Daily Inspiration – Empowering Thoughts

Daily Inspiration

Welcome to our does of daily inspiration! In a world that’s constantly on the move, we all need a little reminder to pause, reflect, and find some inspiration.

This series inspirational posts is here to help you find encouragement and strength, no matter what challenges come your way.

Tapping into Your Inner Intuitive Wisdom (Daily Inspirations 24/09/24)

Do you ever feel that something isn’t right or that you should make a certain decision?

This is your intuition, and it is your greatest ally. It will just be a subtle feeling in your gut, this is your internal guide looking to steer you down the right path.

This feeling of intuition is your inner wisdom nudging you, which can often be in the opposite direction of what logic and reason tell you. Your inner wisdom will be looking to keep you aligned with your authentic true self.

You must learn to trust your intuition and give it a voice that you are prepared to listen to. Short meditations or moments of mindfulness will enable your intuition to flow and bring those feelings of unease or discomfort to your attention.

Once you have become aware of your intuition, you then have the opportunity to honestly and openly decode what it is trying to signal to you. The more you acknowledge and act on your intuitive feelings, the stronger and clearer they become.

So I encourage you not to dismiss the wisdom of your inner voice, but instead build a path to it where you are receptive to taking these intuitive feelings onboard.

Stop, talk, reset (Daily Inspiration 23/09/24)

It can be very easy to assume you know what someone else is thinking or construct your own narrative as to why they exhibit certain behaviors.

Over time these assumptions, and constructs start to take on significance and will start to drive your behaviours.

But if you have genuine care for the other person, then you need to stop and revalidate your understanding and assumptions.

Our lives are fluid and what one person thinks today, could be worlds apart from what they were thinking 3 months ago. Along with changing prioritises, external pressures, and influences, what’s going on inside can be a kaleidoscope of emotions and feelings.

This makes it so vital that you set aside time to discuss and share how each of you is thinking and feeling it that current moment. This conversation can be straightforward or it can be difficult, but they do need to happen.

Then from this point, you have a new reset understanding of the other person’s model of the world, that can be used as a basis going forward.

Taking the time to have the conversation will help both parties express themselves and reconnect on a new and improved level.

I’m not suggesting you have to have these types of conversations with everyone, but they are valuable to have with anyone you significantly care about, e.g. your partner, children, parents etc.

Facing Adversity (Daily Inspiration 20/09/24)

Adversity is inevitable in life; it is only a matter of time before you will face some.

Whilst we like to think we have everything under control, it’s impossible to control all the factors at play in the universe.

So all we can do is take care of the things we can control and not spend time worrying about the things we can’t control, and there will be plenty of those.

So on the assumption that adversity will hit at some point. We shouldn’t reflect on the fact that adversity has happened, but instead, we must focus on how we then respond to the adversity.

Notice, I said respond to the adversity and not react to it. Emotional reactions in this scenario won’t help, whereas a calm considered response, where all the options have been objectively considered will.

It takes great self-control to not get caught up in the emotional turmoil of an adverse situation. To stand back, and see things from a more reflective viewpoint is what self-leadership and critical thinking are all about.

The adversity is there to test you, it’s there to enable growth within you. It may not be enjoyable at the time. But ultimately you will benefit from its appearance.

My 5-minute daily routine (Daily Inspiration 19/09/24)

Every day, as soon as I am awake, I do the following:

1 – Gratitude (1Min) – I get myself into an Attitude of Gratitude – I generate a list of 10 things that I am truly grateful for. These are things that give me a massive overwhelming sense of gratitude. This can be big things, small things, internal things or external things.

2 – Set Intentions (2Min) – I break my day down into 4 or 5 chunks, e.g. before work, work morning, work afternoon, evening. Then I set an intention for each chunk, so I work out what I want to do with each block of time and what mode I want to be in, e.g. before work – get kids ready for school, in a mode of nurturing.

3 – Decide Priority (1Min) – I determine the one thing that above all else I must achieve that day. I make sure it’s something that would give me a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment but also make sure it is something that I can achieve in just one day.

4 – Visualise Success (1 Min) – Then I close my eyes and spend 1 minute visualising what came to mind during steps 2 & 3.  I make the image as vivid as possible and fill it with as much emotion as possible, I ask myself how I will feel if my day goes exactly to plan and I achieve my top priority and other intentions.

Give this a go for 10 days and I am confident you will start to see the difference this 5-minute investment can have on transforming each day for you.

Troublesome Transitions (Daily Inspiration 18/09/24)

Transitions can be difficult, and September certainly brings lots of them.

Firstly, in nature we see the summer transition into Autumn, the sun sits lower in the sky, the evening starts to get noticeably darker earlier, and the leaves prepare to begin falling from the trees.

Domestically things transition too, children return to their new school years after a long break, and for some, it may even be starting at a new school or college.

Parents transition from having to take care of their children over the summer into a more familiar working pattern.

Many of these transitions can seem very daunting and troublesome at first. Everything looks so new with unfamiliar faces, new activities, and maybe even the loss of old friends who have gone in different directions. But soon enough the new becomes the familiar, and the discomfort turns to ease.

Just like nature, these periods of transition are just repeating cycles that we all must go through, they are a necessary part of our lives, because to receive anything new we must sacrifice the old, and to grow we must endure a bit of pain as we are thrust into new situations.

These new situations will be overcome and become your new normal for a while. Although it can be difficult at the time, transitions are a blessing because without them we don’t have the opportunity to develop and move into our next phase of experience.

So, embrace the transition, knowing that you will succeed.

Ripple Effect of Kindness (Daily Inspiration 17/09/24)

Life is becoming busier and busier every day. The level of distractions and interruptions is insane. Between social media, school emails, WhatsApp groups, or unwanted phone calls, there just doesn’t seem to be a moment to breathe.

Despite being surrounded by constant contact, it all lacks any real substance or authenticity. I see this making more and more people feel overwhelmed, isolated, under pressure, and damn right lonely. They crave genuine human connection but just don’t have the bandwidth to source it.

So, wow can we reverse this trend? How can we create genuine connections with people that will uplift their spirits and increase their vibration?

I see the answer as being very simple – It is the Ripple Effect of Kindness. No matter how busy, distracted, depressed or disengaged you feel. Just start your day with one act of KINDNESS.

This doesn’t have to be any massive gesture or time consuming, just something very simple will do. You could make your partner a cup of tea, smile at another parent on the school run, or hold open a door for a stranger.

This single act of kindness creates a ripple effect. Not only will it make you feel good, but it could, and hopefully will, inspire the person you helped to pay it forward. Very quickly that one small gesture of kindness can be spread far and wide, impacting others in a positive way.

Kindness is amazingly powerful. It has the power to connects us, lifts us, and reminds us that even in a busy world, we can still make a difference.

Start the ripple effect of kindness today.
